How will I know when I am ready to start my own Usana business?

Do you wake up every day and look forward to going to work? Are you truly appreciated at work and do you feel a sense of belonging? Are you content when your pay cheque arrives at the end of the month? Do you feel that you tax contribution is fair, compared to your income? Do you feel that you have enough time to spend doing the things that you enjoy? If you answered no to any of the questions above, then you are ready!

I was introduced to Usana in June 2006. I had made the decision a number of years previously not to spend my entire working life in a 9 to 5 job, building someone else's asset rather than my own. I had researched various alternative income opportunities from investments to business ownership and franchises, but one major obstacle stood in my way. I did not have sufficient capital to invest. I knew that the only way I could achieve financial independence and time freedom was through business ownership and I began searching for a network marketing business that would suit my needs and requirements and would not require a substantial financial outlay. That search led me to Usana.

If you cast your mind back 5 years, did you dream of doing the things that you now do for work and leisure? Did you set a plan for change at that time, which you have in the most part achieved? Have you been able to improve you quality of life significantly in that 5-year period? Do you have plans in place to make further improvements over the next 2 to 5 years?

Maybe things haven't changed for you over that 5-year period. Perhaps you wanted to add value to your life, but things haven't worked out in the way that you had hoped. Is it likely that you will be in the same situation in a further 2 to 5 years? My key piece of advice if you fall into this category is:

"If you keep doing what you always did, you'll always get what you always got"

Sometimes, if you are not contented, you have to look at different ways of doing things. This was something I learned during my own personal development, as the most successful people approach tasks differently and with an open mind. They usually 'think outside the box'. I wanted things to be different in my life and fortunately I have found a company where I now have the vehicle I need to achieve my full potential. I would encourage you to strive for success and initiate change. You are the only thing standing between where you are now and your true potential.

I would like to encourage you to dream. What do you truly want out of life? If you don't know what you want and what you would like to achieve then your chances of attaining it are greatly diminished. Do you want to be financially free? Do you dream of having more time freedom? Do you want to go on a dream holiday, or buy a new car, or a new home? Whatever it might be, decide what you want and focus on it. 80% of your success in this, or any business, is your 'WHY'. Your WHY is your driving force and your reason for staying motivated and committed to building your business. The remaining 20% is the 'HOW' of the business. The HOW is something that you can learn from your sponsor and your team, as the systems are already in place to develop you into the best leader that you can be. Think of Usana as a franchise, where specific workable systems can be used by you, which have been developed and refined over the company's 15 year history. If you are teachable and willing to learn, you can acquire the HOW, but you must have a strong desire for change.

As associates, we can try to persuade people to be in our business, in which case they may lack the desire to be successful. Alternatively, we can inspire people to want more from life and then present them with the model that we have chosen to achieve our personal dreams. The later will bring dedicated, goal orientated, self-motivated people to the team. This is what we aim to do with our WIN Online system and I would encourage you to do the same.

What if I decide that the Usana business is not right for me at this time?

You are under absolutely no obligation to take advantage of this business if you do not believe that this is the right opportunity for you at this time. However, I would still strongly recommend that you try the products, as it is still very important to be proactive (rather than reactive) with your health.
