How can one personally generate an income with Usana?

With Usana you can generate an income by promoting the nutritional products and the home business opportunity. There is the potential to earn a leveraged, residual income as your own personal business grows.

A leveraged income is best described by the following quote by John D. Rockefellar (American Industrialist and Philanthropist, founder of the Standard Oil Company, 1839-1937):

“I would rather earn 1% of 100 people's efforts than 100% of my own efforts”

You have leverage in your business, when you are paid on the efforts of other people within your organisation, as well as on your own efforts. A residual income is a reccuring stream of income from a single effort. Therefore a leveraged, residual income is a recurring stream of income from your initial efforts and the initial efforts of everyone in your organisation.

This highlights why your earning potential with Usana is unlimited. As your organisation grows, so too does your income. As more customers and associates become part of your organisation, your potential for growth will also increase. This can create a cycle of duplication and exponential growth.

What is unique about the Usana Pay plan?

Usana operates a Binary Compensation Plan. This is a simple and effective pay structure, which encourages teamwork and ongoing support for all associates. The binary pay plan is fair on every associate, regardless of when they join the business. You will have exactly the same opportunity to be successful as the early pioneers in the company. The pay plan provides the potential for everyone in the business to earn a leveraged, residual income and is partly the reason why Usana has been voted the number 1 people's choice for 9 years running in 'Network Marketing Today' magazine (1997 to 2007).

A binary pay plan encourages teamwork, rather than competition, because you can benefit directly from helping others to succeed. As you become more experienced in the business, you will be responsible for teaching new associates how to promote the benefits of Usana. In exchange you will receive commissions on the sales they generate. This is different from most sales environments, where the emphasis is on 'personal sales' rather than 'group sales'. If you personally bring new partners into the business then this will in turn help your existing associates, as you will always build within your existing organisation, supporting your team rather than competing with them.

How does a binary pay plan actually work?

Firstly, you must be aware of the two different types of people you can have in your organisation. They are 'Preferred Customers' and 'Associates'.

Preferred Customers are individuals who order and consume products, but are not actively seeking other customers or business associates. If you wish to independently order products from a direct selling company then you must have a Preferred Customer account.

Associates are individuals who are actively promoting the company's products and business. As an associate you can earn commissions for any new customers and associates who are added to your organisation. As an associate it is important that you are also a consumer of the products. To be eligible for commissions you must order products for your own personal consumption.

When you first start your own business you should begin sharing the products with anyone you believe has an interest in your company's products or services. Therefore, encourage your friends and family to learn more about what the company has to offer. Your first objective is to develop a small, but loyal Preferred Customer base (C).

It is also important to consider who you know that may be interested in the business opportunity. It is likely that your Customers will also know people who may have an interest in the products, so encourage them to look at the business opportunity too. Your Preferred Customers can become Associates (A) at any time, or you can approach people specifically about the business. Any Associates that you sponsor in the business become part of your organisation. They then have the exact same opportunity as you to develop a customer base and team of Associates. Without introducing other Associates, your number of potential customers will be dramatically reduced. Every new Associate that you introduce to the business will have their own network of potential Customers and Associates, thus enabling you to reach more people indirectly.

Think of yourself as the CEO of your own organisation. You have selected 2 business partners who will be helping you to build your own team of Associates and Customers. In exchange, you will be teaching them how to develop their own organisation. It is important to remember that your personal commissions are based on all of the products sold and consumed within your organisation, so it is in your best interests to help both of your business partners to be successful. Teach your Associates about the products so they can find their customers and advise them on how to select their 2 key people to partner in the business.

It is possible that you will find more than just 2 people who could benefit from association with your company, but you only have 2 available positions on your front line. Therefore, any new partners you bring to the business would be placed in a vacant position within your downline. This is also true for anyone in your organisation who already has his or her 2 Associates. Therefore your continued efforts to build your team will assist existing members of your team to develop their organisations. It also follows that the continued efforts of your sponsor in the business is likely to assist in the development of your organisation (see below):

As your organisation grows you will begin to benefit from a leveraged residual income from your business. Your business can become an income-producing asset, which may continue to pay you an income for many years once you have a successful team and organisation. There is no limit to the size of organisation you can build and hence, there is no upper limit on the earning potential. Every time repeat orders are placed by any of the Customers or Associates in your organisation, you will receive commission points, which can translate into commission payments.

This is a brief overview of the fundamentals of building a Network Marketing business with 1 Business Centre (pay station). There is usually the potential to earn additional Business Centres, so you can develop new teams within your primary business. There are generally limitations on the earning potential per business centre, but there are no limitations on the number of business centres you can be awarded.
